Coaching

Are you looking for a tennis coach? Why or when do you need tennis coaching?
Our Club Coach, David Wildsmith, is here to help you no matter what the answer is to these questions.

Most juniors will be coached well before they start competition. It’s pretty much a pre-requisite that you be able to hit balls over the net and serve a fair percentage of balls ‘in’ before you begin to play competition. Parents who have played tennis may also try their hand at coaching and bring their children up to a certain standard too.

Playing Competition is often the aim, or generally follows, a period of coaching, OR, coaching is used to improve you game in some respect. Maybe you are someone who just wants to learn and play socially.

Our club provides tennis coaching for all standards, from young juniors to adults, beginners to advanced players.

Our coaching team is headed up by David Wildsmith. David is a great asset to our club, he is a very talented and dedicated coach with 25 years plus experience in the industry, as well as achieving a personal State Grade Pennant level as a player.

David heads a very enthusiastic team who assist him to cover the variety, the timing and the skill levels involved.

Junior Coaching

David is capable of taking the kids to an extremely high, competitive level, whilst keeping them grounded and helping them concentrate on what is important to them. He is also actively involved in pennant competitions with the juniors and taking them to a higher level in local senior competitions.

Wendy O’Connor is part of the coaching team and is fabulous with the young ones. Wendy makes sure the kids are having fun while on the court, learning not only how to hit the ball, but a court tactics and etiquette as well. Yes, this is Wendy’s specialty as she helps them get it all together and gets them ready for competition and further advanced coaching.

Dan (David’s son) is also involved with coaching these days – while assisting David with coaching activities, he also helps to run the Hot Shots component. Hot Shots has been a great introductory program to tennis – (similar to Vic Kick and Aus Ball for other sports) – and the kids absolutely love it.

Coaching for Non-Juniors

BUT – If you already play tennis and want to improve your shots, tactics, serve …… OR, if you have never played before and want to start, David and his team can also help you. He’s more than happy to hear from you.
